Out of the Palace, Not Promise

 

    David was in a bad situation. His own son, Absalom had orchestrated a revolt and planned to take over the kingdom. Thus, David found himself out of palace because of this.

And David said unto all his servants that were with him at Jerusalem, Arise, and let us flee; for we shall not else escape from Absalom. 2 Sam 15:14 (KJV)

Are you in a situation today where you have been moved from your “palace?” Palace: your place of peace, rest, and purpose. David was out of his place because of past doings.

Have things of your past forced you out of your palace? Well there is hope. We know that David was restored to his palace because God’s promise to him still stood regardless. Moreover, his son was hung by his own head.

Just know that whatever (past, guilt, shame, lies of the enemy, hurts) has forced you out of your “palace” will hang itself. Understand that the promises of God are upon you. If David was restored, so shall you also. Remember, you may be out of the palace, but never out of promise.

“Lord, I simply say thank you for your faithfulness. Because you are faithful to me, I will endeavor to be faithful to you. Amen.”

Lord, Let Me Touch You

Have you ever desired something so badly that no obstacle could stand in your way? Desire is a powerful emotion that can drive sane men and women into madness; that is, you will do things you never thought you would do. Many of us have memories of where desires forced us to act in ways that we thought possible. Well, what is the point?

And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment: Matt 9:20 (KJV)

Do you have a desire to become stronger, closer, and better in Christ? If your answer is “Yes,” then you should be willing to do something extra to lay hold of Him. Remember, the woman with an issue of blood, she broke convention and protocol just to touch the hem of His garment. She pressed through the crowd and her past disappointments. Her desire forced her out of her comfort zone.

Today, do something that reflects your true desire for Christ. Get over people, predicaments, and your past, go on, and touch the Lord. You will experience the blessing, deliverance, and peace you desire. Say it now, “Lord, let me touch You!”

 I ask for strength today to pursue you. Life has brought many challenges, but I know if I can get past what is before me, you will bless me. Amen.”

Try It Again

        Well, here we are again at the start of a new year. I know, I know… people make all kinds of resolutions because a new calendar year has entered. Others, however, are disappointed and discouraged because they did not accomplish personal and professional goals set in the previous year. However, one must get over what was and what happened and try again.

And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. Luke 5:5 (KJV)

        Peter was like many of us. He and the others fished all night and had caught nothing. Yet, Jesus told them to let their nets down again. Though Peter protested initially, he obeyed Christ and received more fish than he could handle.

At the beginning of this year, let down your net again and trust that Christ will cause you to be productive in areas that were previously barren, both personally and spiritually. Join me and let’s “Try It Again!”

 “I come before you on today Lord asking for grace to do what I need to do. Help me to have the proper response to the negative situations that have occurred. Renew my faith for success. Amen.”

Leave the Doubt

        When entering certain venues, there are certain items that cannot enter with you. For instance, at art showings and music events, the usual prohibition is that you leave recording, mechanical, and photographic devices outside of the function. If one violates this and is caught, there are consequences. The same holds true as the Christian enters prayer. Paul stated it this way,

I will therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting. I Timothy 2:8

He encouraged his audience to leave not only wrath, but also doubt as they entered into prayer. If we are not careful, we will enter into God’s presence with the wrong items, which could result in negative consequences, such as frustration, depression, and unanswered requests.

We must know that we can approach God in any condition we may be in, yet faith has to be the governing factor. On today, believe in your God who is faithful and leave the doubt as you enter His presence through prayer.
